Evrah Rose - poet, author and spoken word champion - has agreed to work with Haemochromatosis UK to tell the stories of people in Wales affected by haemochromatosis.

Although the prevalence of haemochromatosis in Wales is high, the condition rarely features on the national health agenda. As a charity, we are committed both to understanding the lived experiences of those affected and to amplifying their voices to drive greater public awareness.

That is why we approached Wrexham-based poet and producer Evrah Rose, who is uniquely placed to lead this work. Evrah lives with haemochromatosis herself and has previously shared her personal story with the charity. This new commission is scheduled to launch during International Haemochromatosis Awareness Week in June 2026.

An acclaimed creative, Evrah was nominated for a Poetry in Motion Award at the 2025 Colorado Film Festival for her film Invisible Me, among other accolades.

If you are based in Wales and are interested in sharing your story through a short video, written piece or photo feature, we would love to hear from you.
